Phil Dean has worked for Cisco for fifteen years and is responsible for Cisco’s technology vision and architectures in Cisco’s European Theatre.
Phil started his career as an electronics engineer at EMI in the team which developed the x-ray CT scanner but has since worked in the IT and communications industry for over 20 years in management roles across product development, product management and IT strategy.
During his time at Cisco Phil has worked on a broad range of technologies including unified communications, security, content networking, data centre and application oriented networking applied to market segments including service providers, enterprise, public sector and SME. Over this time the major theme has been the convergence of services and traffic onto a single IT infrastructure.
Over the last four years his focus has been on IT systems and their impact on improving collaboration, operational efficiencies and business process. In this role much of his time is spent working with CIOs and CTOs across a broad range of industry segments.
Phil is a regular speaker at international conferences, has a BSc and MSc in engineering, is a Chartered Engineer and has a diploma in marketing. |
